PROVINCIAL ORGANISATION
The aeronautical platforms under the authority of the provincial organisation are subdivided into airports and aerodromes.

INFORMATION ON AIRPORTS AND AERODROMES CATEGORIES AND USAGE
DHMİ operates 20 airports and aerodromes. Atatürk, Esenboğa, Adnan Menderes, Antalya, Adana,
Trabzon, Milas–Bodrum, Süleyman Demirel and Nevşehir–Kapadokya Airports are open for international and domestic flights, both regular and charter. Adıyaman, Ağrı, Ferit Melen, Gaziantep, Kahraman Maraş, Kars, Körfez, Mardin, Samsun–Çarşamba, Siirt, and Şanlıurfa
Aerodromes are open only for domestic flights. In addition to these; there are also some aerodromes operating together with military authorities. The right to use these civil-military aerodromes are summarized below:
- The right to use Dalaman Airport and Balıkesir, Bursa–Yenişehir, Çardak, Çorlu, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Kayseri, Konya, Malatya, Muş and Sivas Aerodromes have been given to DHMİ and the Command of the Air Forces.
- The right to use Elazığ and Erzincan Aerodromes have been given to DHMİ and the Command of the Land Forces;
- The right to use Çanakkale Aerodrome has been given to DHMİ and the Command of the Naval Forces.
There are nine military airports and their commands, they fall under, are shown in the table.
Sinop, Tokat, Uşak and Zonguldak–Çaycuma Aerodromes were temporarily closed to civil transport by a decision of the Council of Ministers No.24557 of 18 October, 2001.
