Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, reported that during the Eid al-Adha holiday from June 14-23, 7,916,726 passengers were served across airports in Türkiye, with 52,819 flights taking off during this period.
Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the intense air traffic experienced across Türkiye's airports during the Eid holiday, noting, "From June 14-23, a total of 52,819 flights were operated across Turkish airports, serving 7,916,726 passengers."
2.4 million Passengers Served at Istanbul Airport
Sharing data on the air traffic at airports in tourism centers between June 14-23, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that a passenger record for 2024 was set at airports in tourist regions during the holiday period. At Istanbul Airport, 15,541 flights served 2,434,107 passengers from June 14-23. He further mentioned that on Sunday, June 23, the airport reached its highest number of passengers for 2024, with 261,916 passengers.
Antalya Airport Set a Record with 199,751 Passengers on June 22
Minister Uraloğlu noted that the extension of the holiday to nine days led to increased traffic at airports and continued:
"At Esenboğa Airport, there were 2,858 flights, serving 408,920 passengers. The highest daily passenger number for 2024 was reached on Friday, June 14, with 46,069 passengers. At Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 2,429 flights served 386,292 passengers. This airport also saw its highest daily passenger count for 2024 on Friday, June 21, serving 43,508 passengers. From June 14-23, Antalya Airport handled 10,198 flights and served 1,756,615 passengers, setting a new passenger record for 2024 on Saturday, June 22, with 199,751 passengers."
A Record Also Broken at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport
Minister Uraloğlu stated that Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport saw 1,453 flights during this period, serving 224,972 passengers. He also shared that on June 20, the airport reached its highest passenger count for 2024, with 26,762 passengers. Additionally, at Muğla Dalaman Airport, there were 1,705 flights, serving 285,043 passengers, with a record high for 2024 of 31,728 passengers on June 17.
