In the meeting held at the General Directorate of DHMI (State Airports Authority) the participation protocol was signed. Dr. Hüseyin Keskin, DHMİ Director General and Chairman of the Board, who also holds the presidency of SOCEA, and Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy Director General, attended the meeting. Farhan Guliyev, General Manager of Azerbaijan Azeraeronavigation under SOCEA, and Andrey Zaytsev, Deputy General Manager of Uzbekistan Uzaeronavigation, along with Torokeldi Omurov, General Manager of Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia, and operational and senior executives of the organizations, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting Dr. Hüseyin Keskin, DHMİ Director General and Chairman of the Board, president of SOCEA, expressed his satisfaction with the participation of Uzbekistan and subsequently Kyrgyzstan in SOCEA. With the establishment of SOCEA, the aim is to create a regional Air Navigation coordination platform covering Europe and Asia pursuant to the cooperation protocol signed with Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of the common vision.
Keskin, emphasizing SOCEA's aim to elevate cooperation with countries with whom we share history and culture to a higher level in the aviation sector, said, "I am confident that the cooperation we have initiated inspired by the religious, linguistic, cultural, and historical ties between our countries will continue to grow and will achieve very bright successes in a short time."
Keskin highlighted that Kyrgyzstan has become an important aviation center in the region with significant investments, technical, and infrastructural developments, stating that flights between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan contribute to the development of commercial and touristic relations.
Keskin emphasized the crucial role of Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the field of cargo transportation, stating, "Kyrgyzstan's membership in SOCEA, which is one of the prominent stops in air transportation between Europe and China, is also of great importance in this regard."
Keskin concluded his speech by thanking Kyrgyzstan and expressing his wishes for the success of this membership.
Torokeldi Omurov, General Manager of Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia, stated in his speech that this participation demonstrates their commitment to safety and efficiency in regional air navigation.
With the membership of Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia, established under the leadership of DHMI and AZANS on August 18, 2023, SOCEA has reached a new level of cooperation among Air Navigation service providers (ANSP) in Europe and Asia. The expanding platform continues its determination to harmonize flights in the region and promote technical innovations in air navigation.
Efforts of Central Asian ANSPs in managing transit traffic were praised at the meeting, which serves as a valuable forum for strategic coordination and effective management of air traffic flow.
