Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that in June, a total of 22,723,642 passengers were served at airports across Türkiye, pointing out, "The passenger traffic in June 2024 increased by 7.9% compared to the same month in 2023." Uraloğlu indicated that in the first six months of 2024, domestic passenger traffic at Turkish airports reached 46,157,020, international passenger traffic reached 58,568,244, and transit passenger traffic reached 108,126. In total, 104,833,309 passengers, including direct and transit passengers, were served in the first six months.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the air traffic, passenger, and cargo statistics for June 2024, released by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI). Uraloğlu stated that in June, the number of aircraft movements at environmentally friendly airports reached 83,021 in domestic flights and 88,322 in international flights, in total adding to 217,663, including overflights. He noted that the aircraft traffic served in June 2024 increased by 3.8% in domestic flights, 6% in international flights, and 6.4% in total aircraft traffic compared to June 2023.
Uraloğlu reported that domestic passenger traffic at airports across Türkiye reached 9,048,214, and international passenger traffic reached 13,645,102 in June. Including direct transit passengers, a total of 22,723,642 passengers were served in the same month. Uraloğlu stated, "Passenger traffic served in June 2024 increased by 6.4% in domestic flights, 9.1% in international flights, and 7.9% in total passenger traffic compared to June 2023. Cargo traffic at airports reached 87,078 tons on domestic flights and 376,957 tons on international flights, totaling 464,035 tons in June."
"7,055,051 Passengers Served at Istanbul Airport in June"
Minister Uraloğlu noted that aircraft traffic at Istanbul Airport reached 10,817 on domestic flights and 34,497 on international flights, a total of 45,314 in June. "At this airport, 1,620,581 passengers were served on domestic flights, and 5,434,470 on international flights, adding to a total of 7,055,051 passengers. Compared to June 2023, aircraft traffic in June 2024 increased by 1%, and passenger traffic increased by 4%."
"3,613,714 Passengers Served at Sabiha Gökçen Airport"
Minister Uraloğlu stated that aircraft traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport reached 10,151 on domestic flights and 10,853 on international flights, reaching a total of 21,004 in June. "At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, 1,825,301 passengers were served on domestic flights and 1,788,413 on international flights, adding a sum of 3,613,714 passengers. Compared to June 2023, aircraft traffic in June 2024 increased by 6% on domestic flights, 1% on international flights, and 4% in total aircraft traffic. Passenger traffic increased by 19% on domestic flights, 7% on international flights, and 13% in total passenger traffic. Additionally, at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where general aviation activities continue, 2,495 aircraft movements were recorded in June."
Over 104 Million Passengers Traveled by Air in Six Months
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that in the first six months of 2024, aircraft movements at airports reached 431,991 on domestic flights and 387,113 on international flights, with a total of 1,071,801 including overflights. He stated, "At the end of June 2024, aircraft traffic served increased by 3.8% on domestic flights, 9.3% on international flights, and 8% in total aircraft traffic, including overflights, compared to the same period in 2023. Domestic passenger traffic at airports across Türkiye reached 46,157,020, international passenger traffic reached 58,568,244, and transit passenger traffic reached 108,126. In total, 104,833,309 passengers, including direct transit passengers, were served in this period. Compared to the same period in 2023, domestic passenger traffic increased by 10.2%, international passenger traffic increased by 13.1%, and total passenger traffic, including direct transit, increased by 11.6%."

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in the six-month period, aircraft traffic at Istanbul Airport reached 57,783 on domestic flights and 195,332 on international flights, totaling 253,115. "At this airport, 8,154,410 passengers were served on domestic flights and 29,938,219 on international flights, totaling 38,092,629 passengers. Compared to the same period in 2023, aircraft traffic increased by 4%, and passenger traffic increased by 7%."
"19,822,886 Passengers Served at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Six Months"
Minister Uraloğlu stated that in the six-month period, aircraft traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport reached 54,983 on domestic flights and 62,790 on international flights, with a total of 117,773. "At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, 9,463,044 passengers were served on domestic flights and 10,359,842 on international flights, adding up to a total of 19,822,886 passengers. Compared to the same period in 2023, aircraft traffic increased by 7% on domestic flights, 10% on international flights, and 9% in total aircraft traffic. Passenger traffic increased by 21% on domestic flights, 16% on international flights, and 18% in total passenger traffic. Additionally, 13,270 aircraft movements were recorded at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in the six-month period."
"23,891,091 Passengers Served at Airports in Tourism Centers in Six Months"
Minister Uraloğlu stated that in the first six months of 2024, the number of passengers served at airports in our tourism destinations with heavy international traffic has reached 8,604,682 on domestic flights and 15,286,409 on international flights, summing up to 23,891,091 passengers. "In this period, 67,799 aircraft movements were recorded on domestic flights and 98,609 on international flights." He reported that in the first six months of 2024, 3,420,585 passengers were served on domestic flights and 1,890,893 on international flights at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, totaling 5,311,478 passengers. "At Antalya Airport, 3,208,734 passengers were served on domestic flights and 11,365,299 on international flights, totaling 14,574,033 passengers. At Muğla Dalaman Airport, 758,476 passengers were served on domestic flights and 1,243,750 on international flights, totaling 2,002,226 passengers. At Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, 988,202 passengers were served on domestic flights and 585,921 on international flights, totaling 1,574,123 passengers. At Gazipaşa Alanya Airport, 228,685 passengers were served on domestic flights and 200,546 on international flights, totaling 429,231 passengers."
