53 AIRPORTS ARE CERTIFIED AGAINST COVID 19

Mr.Adil KARAISMAILOGLU, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure by informing that the airports are certified against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic under the guidelines as set forth by the Ministry of Health and the appointed Board of Medical Doctors(BMD); has also stated that “The airports take all measures against Covid-19. In addition to the 6 airports that were previously certified, 47 more airports have been issued as of today. Hence, 53 airports are now equipped with precautionary measures to serve our passengers with confidence."

Minister Adil KARAISMAILOGLU stated that the endeavor initiated under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan against the Covid-19 epidemic, which was first seen in China in December and affected the all countries in the world, has been successfully conducted so far. Indicating that 83 million citizens band together against this pandemic in order to fulfill their responsibilities as a nation, Minister KARAISMAILOGLU reminded that they, as a family of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, are carrying out an important certification program for the airports. Noting that all airports have started to be reorganized with the pandemic measures, Minister KARAISMAILOGLU underlined that the “Airworthiness Certificate" is issued to airports in line with the foresight of the Ministry of Health and BMD.

The Minister recalled that in accordance with the information and inspections carried out within the scope of the program by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, to 6 airports that met all the required criteria subject certification was duly granted. In addition to these considerations, Mr.KARAISMAILOGLU said, “Within the process of new normalization as you know 6 airports Istanbul, Sabiha Gökçen, Esenboğa, İzmir Adnan Menderes, Antalya and Trabzon have acquired certification and resumed the domestic flights by June 1st. In addition to these airports, 47 of our airports have completed the process of inspection and applied to be certified. As of today, these airports have also been granted with certificates. In total, 53 airports are now taking all precautions against the Covid-19 outbreak. All necessary measures are taken at every stage of one's travel. At our airports, our passengers can feel safe all through their journey. We have taken all required health and hygiene measures at the highest level at airports and in aircraft. At all of our certified airports we prioritize the health and safety of our passengers."

Minister KARAISMAILOGLU emphasized that though the World greatly suffered from this pandemic,Turkey's "unity, integrity and family ties' has made it possible to stand strong against the risks of this difficult period, and thus it is once again witnessed that no pandemic, crisis, and no power can ever destroy the unity of the Turkish nation.

Ministers KARAISMAILOGLU indicated that throughout this process Turkey's self-sufficiency and the aid of medical supplies provided to 102 countries, are evidence of the fact that Turkey is always ready to lend a helping hand to the ones in need. The Minister finally states, "under the leadership of our President, we will continue to develop and grow stronger by rising production and sharing with those in need ".
