Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that during the holiday period from April 5th to April 14th, a total of 6,852,948 passengers were hosted at airports. He said, "During the holiday period, a total of 42,573 aircraft movements were recorded nationwide, with 6,852,948 passengers traveling by air. On April 14th, Istanbul Airport reached the highest number of passengers in 2024 with 245,995 passengers."
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the air travel statistics for the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, also known as Ramadan Bayram holiday. Highlighting the increasing air traffic each year, Uraloğlu emphasized, "The aviation investments we have made in the last 22 years under the vision and leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are bearing fruit. Our citizens prefer the comfort of air travel for their journeys. Air travel has now become an indispensable part of everyday life."
"6,852,948 People Used Air Travel During the Holiday"
Uraloğlu emphasized that during the dates of April 5-14, 2024, a total of 6,852,948 passengers traveled through the airports across Türkiye, with 42,573 aircraft movements. He stated, "In response to the increasing number of passengers and the demands of our citizens, we, as the Ministry, fulfill our responsibilities to provide safe, economical, comfortable, and fast air transportation throughout Türkiye. We will crown the second century of our Republic with projects and services befitting the Century of Türkiye, making the century of transportation."

Uraloğlu emphasized that as the Ministry, they have brought transportation in Türkiye to a new level with state-of-the-art systems and investments in every mode of transportation. He stated, "We are working to increase our country's economy and employment in every project that will shed light on Türkiye’s future. We will continue to work with all our might to improve our country's tourism, industry, and transportation network. In the Century of Türkiye, we will continue provide limitless service."

Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that during the holiday period, a record-breaking number of passengers was served at airports in tourism regions in 2024. He stated that from April 5th to April 14th, 2024, Istanbul Airport recorded 14,546 aircraft movements, serving a total of 2,212,709 passengers. Uraloğlu also noted that on April 14th, 2024, the airport reached a milestone of 245,995 passengers, marking the highest number of passengers for the year 2024.
"Antalya Airport Served 786,962 Passengers"
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that due to the 9-day holiday period coinciding with the school break, there was a significant amount of travel towards tourism regions. He highlighted the high occupancy rates at airports in tourism centers during the holiday. Continuing his speech, he stated:
"At Ankara Esenboğa Airport, there were 2,502 aircraft movements, serving 365,972 passengers. On April 14th, 2024, the airport reached its highest number of passengers for the year 2024 with 42,453 passengers. At Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, there were 2,160 aircraft movements, serving 324,595 passengers. On April 14th, 2024, the airport also reached its highest number of passengers for the year 2024 with 38,168 passengers. Our tourism city Antalya remained one of the cities with the highest number of passengers. At Antalya Airport, there were 4,941 aircraft movements, serving 786,962 passengers, with April 13th, 2024, marking the highest number of passengers for the year 2024 with 97,791 passengers. At Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, there were 764 aircraft movements, serving 76,544 passengers. Similarly, at Muğla Dalaman Airport, there were 736 aircraft movements, serving 115,960 passengers."
